For the two nights I would be in Sweetwater, Tx, I wanted to stay some place different and memorable. I could not have picked a better place. I love history and this house has a great story and beautiful antique furniture. I stayed in the Mattie Mae room which epitomizes luxury from the thick carpeting, mirrored armoire to the huge bathroom with a roman bath. I favor showers (there was one) but I could not pass up the opportunity to experience a roman bath. The innkeepers, Kim and Mark, could not have been more gracious or concerned about one's comfort. Coffee, tea and cookies were always available. Guests have free access to the kitchen as well as to two well-appointed living rooms and an atrium that is sunny and open. It even has a bar. I loved being able to sit on the front porch, read and watch the world go by. The manor is exceptionally clean; quite a feat in dusty west Texas. It's easy to get to from the interstate but once there, you seem miles away from it. I'm already looking forward to my next stay when I am next in the area.
