Mulberry Manor is located in the Historic Trammell House in Sweetwater Texas. The home was built by rancher and banker Thomas Trammell (1848-1919). Trammell is known as the "Father of Sweetwater" for his roll in bringing the railroad to town.
Built between 1911 and 1913, the home was designed by noted architect John Young, father of actress Loretta Young, and reflects the Mission Revival-Prarie School style of architecture.
Shortly after Trammell's death the home was leased to the city and served as the only hospital in the area from 1923 to 1936. Later Trammell's daughter and her family occupied the home. In the years to follow it served as a private home and apartments.
In 1991 Raymond and Beverly Stone purchased the home, restored it, and it became known as Mulberry Mansion Bed and Breakfast. When Mulberry Mansion closed in the late 1990's it once again became a private residence.
In October of 2018, the home was purchased by Mark and Kim Reaves who spent the next 11 months creating their unique vision for the Historic Property. In September of 2019 Mulberry Manor Bed and Breakfast opened its doors for business.
